Jeporeka is a space that promotes the development and encounter of Paraguayan musicians. Imagined by Berta Rojas, with the support of the Itaú Bank and Foundation, it is a project that seeks to bring together and support young Paraguayan music artists, and put them in contact with masters who stimulate and guide them in the creation of new musical works. In the first edition, carried out during 2020, 11 young composers created "Pytũ Mimbi", a collective musical work inspired by reflection and feeling in these times of pandemic, finally captured in an audiovisual record of great care and quality. In its second edition, the 2021 edition, the 30 selected teams formed work teams. Each team created a new song, during a 6-week work process, with the support and supervision of 6 teachers (2 for music, 2 for lyrics, and 2 for vocal interpretation) who worked with all the teams in the form of group meetings and individual classes.
"A Day with..." It is a format created by Berta Rojas within the framework of the Pu Rory Project (another initiative created by the same), through which fundamental classical guitar artists were invited to spend, as its name says, a whole day with young members of the project.
Thus, William Kanengiser, member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Grammy winner with this group, and maestro Eduardo Isaac, one of the greatest guitarists in Latin America, passed through our classrooms.
In an expansion of the project, the great Paquito D'Rivera spent a day with young musicians in an unforgettable day.
"Un Día Con..." brings great artists to young Paraguayans to inspire them, help them in their training, while making them feel part of a universe where they can also be, at least for one day, peers with them. Thus, in 2022, Berta Rojas invites Jorge Fandermole to be the guest of Jeporeka 2022.
